In 2005, we undertook a major renovation project of a newly purchased home on Bay View Street in Camden. 

The house originated in 1880 and had been added onto every few decades since.  There were three different heating systems, and the other systems in the house were antiquated and unsafe.  Lew began in the basement and worked his way up.  He is very personable and easy to work with – every week, he presented me with all receipts and a detailed accounting of that week’s work. 

The work was fantastic.  The overall quality of his and his crew’s work was top notch, and on the very few occasions when a subcontractor’s work did not meet his or my standards, he worked quickly to remedy the problem. 

The project was completed on the Memorial Weekend, just as he had promised me that it would be in early October when the project began.  My only regret is that I can’t get Lew to do out of state work in my primary residence. 

The western Penobscot Bay area is lucky to have an honest, hard working, knowledgeable and dedicated contractor like Lew Sukeforth. -   Mark Scheffer
